Immersed in dirty synths, melodic harmonies, guitar driven riffs and penetrating hooks, bad boy bandits The Blow Waves are heading to Tassie for two shows only in Hobart and Launceston.
Fresh off the plane from their European tour where they performed at the World Out Games 2009 in Copenhagen, headlined at Manchester's Pride Festival, and at Berlin's famous White Trash, The Blow Waves will be the hottest ticket in town.
The Blow Waves' garish costumes, a bright clash between New Romantic and punk, ensure they're hard to miss and are easily the hottest live band in Melbourne at the moment. Fronted by lead singer Matt Thomas (The Mavis's) the band fuses punk, disco and a touch of "cock rock" to create a unique sound described as punchy, rocky, disco camp....full of raw attitude!
The Blow Waves will be supported by critically acclaimed electro-clash satirists The Bad Father. The hilarious lycra-clad duo robot dance their way through a set of pure electro-pop madness, fusing hip hop, new wave and electro at its funniest and most twisted. Nominated for Best Cabaret Ensemble at the 2009 Green Room Awards.
