Mardi Gras Parade - 2012

TasPride is excited to once again produce a Tasmanian float for the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. Plans are already underway for 2012.

In 2008, Tasmania was represented by over 100 volunteers from all over Tasmania and interstate who quite literally put Tassie on the map. It was the largest float Tasmania had ever entered in the parade. The Tassie Devil's team marched up Oxford Street performing a choreographed routine in front of over half a million spectators.

In 2012 TasPride are planning a re-visiting of our most successful theme ever - the Tassie Devils - with a new and fabulous twist! Costumes will be debuted at the 2011 TasPride Festival, so keep your eyes out for THE look of 2012!

Signature Events

Throughout the year, TasPride hosts a number of key events to celebrate and raise awareness of the Tasmanian GLBTI community.

2011 Artfully Queer Exhibition - FutureQueer

Fasten your seatbelts, breathe deeply from your oxygen masks and kiss your past goodbye as Artfully Queer 2011 blasts off into the future. The 7^th Annual Artfully Queer exhibition of queer Tasmanian art presented by TasPride, futureQUEER, leaves the launch pad at the Moonah Arts Centre, 65 Hopkins Street, Moonah at 6pm on Friday 23^rdSeptember and is in orbit until Thursday 6^th October 2011.
