Pride Parade

One of the questions that the TasPride committee always gets around Festival time "are we having a parade?" Well, we're very excited to say YES this year. For the first time ever as part of the TasPride Festival, we invite you, and everyone you know, to join us as we take to the streets of Hobart for the Inaugural Pride Parade, to celebrate our pride and our community.
Parade participants are to assemble in the lane next to the Playhouse Theatre at 11:30am on Saturday Nov 5. The Parade will then begin at 12midday and proceed up Bathurst St to Murray, then follow Murray St down to its conclusion at Parliament House Lawns. Parade participants and supporters will then hear from members of our community, including Rodney Croome, about why we have much to celebrate here in Tasmania.
How can you participate? Well, the most fun way would be to get together a group - be it with an organisation, sports team, or group of friends - and come up with an idea to express your pride and celebration at being a part of the LGBTIQ community in Tasmania. Alternatively, just rock up on the day with all your friends and family and either take up a posi and cheer on the Parade as it passes by, or join in the fun by acting as a marshall to help us get through the streets safely.
For enquiries about registering a group for the parade, and for up-to-date details, keep visiting www.taspride.com, or our Facebook page. If you are on facebook, please be sure to share this event with all of your friends too!
